Students may choose any genre to write about including science fiction, adventure, memoir, fantasy-fiction, mystery, or friendship. Each student will receive a writing craft education that includes creating characters, tension/conflict, sensory descriptive writing, setting, structure, and editing of their work. The instructor will also offer information on contests and publishing opportunities. The instructor is a published poet and author who will work individually with students to spark an idea, build creative writing skills, and complete writing projects. Dr. TK O’Hearn has taught creative writing at Huntington University, Manchester University, and MacMurray College in addition to area school summer workshops.
