8/16-8/27/2021 2 Weeks 10 Classes Monday – Friday 2:00pm – 3:30pm Eastern Time
This is an advanced acting class open to all students who have studied theater previously. We will utilize voice, body, posture and diction training, as well as play fun improvisational games as we study, audition, rehearse and perform a short version of a Shakespearean play on Zoom. We will work together to understand the script, relationships and each character’s motivation. We will work diligently on speech and articulation and realistically creating the world of the play. Each student will develop their character’s inner life by imagining the character’s back story and current motivations and desires, and share their discoveries with the class. We will work on our listening skills to allow ourselves to respond truthfully under the imaginary circumstances of the play.
This class will not only boost confidence and self esteem, but will be fun, exciting and a new challenge for advanced students! The class will guarantee students will never again be intimidated by Shakespeare’s wonderful language. Our play will be chosen based on the specific actors enrolled in this class.
